DECLARATION FOR THE WORLD

Throughout this unit, we have examined the philosophical foundations for American Democracy which are developed in the study of Civil Disobedience. Consider how Chief Joseph, Jefferson, Dekanawida, Adams, Stanton, Thoreau, Gandhi and King Jr. emphasize the rights of the citizen and the role of government as you develop your own declaration.

In your declaration, you will follow the organization of the "Declaration of Independence."

Introduction: Stating the Inalienable Rights of People

Body Paragraph: Identifying the injustices, where these rights have been violated.

Body Paragraph Providing a Resolution--Stating Positive Values for the Future

Call to Action

38 comments:

  1. Everyone is granted inalienable rights by their creator, these rights include, but are not limited to, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness entitled to all people of all races and genders. No matter their class in society, or how they live. Many rights have been violated in this current world, these include:

Injustice in the courtroom across the world.

Denial of life across the world.

Freedom of speech has been violated.

Freedom of expression has been denied.

Women and children are not considered equal to men.

Human trafficking is prevalent in the world.

People have been inhumanly imprisoned and tortured.

The freedom to move throughout the world has been denied.

These violations can come to an end. If we work together as one world, we can end these injustices. There must be a restricted role of government across the globe. The world can once again rise as one in a prolific manner.
This requires the full cooperation of all the countries in the world and we call everyone together to fight these injustices as one.

  2. We the people of this world are all given unalienable rights by our creator. These rights include to be able to live your life freely, equal protection under the law, and the right to pursue whatever makes you happy without obstruction of unjust law. These rights apply to every human no matter their gender, age, race, income, or personality. These rights have been violated in modern world, and have allowed people around the world to commit heinous crimes against humanity. Examples of modern day rights violations include the following:

The patriot act allowing the United States government to violate the privacy rights of its citizens with little or no cause.

The mistreatment of infants, children, and women throughout many households.

The denial of freedom of press that occurs in nations all over the world in nations such as North Korea.

The abusive nature of dictators towards their people that can be seen in nations like North Korea.

The unfair prosecution of religions that happens everyday all over the middle east.

The cruel treatment of the poor and homeless that goes on unnoticed around the world.

The unjust treatment of criminals that occurs throughout the world.

These examples of crimes against humanity provide more than enough proof of modern day rights violations. However, we should look back on these rights violations as a warning to our species. They should be used to show what happens if we as a species let injustice occur; they also should inspire every human being no matter their gender, age, race, income, or personality. We also need to stay true to fighting these human rights violations. Likewise, this can only occur is we become accepting of others and their differences in order to unite. In fact, we should all see to stopping injustice, and we should not wait until tomorrow or next day but now. Now is the time to take action. Now is the time to fight for freedom. Now is the time to stand up for what is right. Now is the time we make things right, and now is the time we come together as a species. If we do not stand up now we will let all of these horrible things go unnoticed. Overall, it is up to us to make decision whether to let rights violations occur.

  3. All people of this planet are given certain inalienable rights, they include the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is everyone’s duty to ensure that these rights are upheld for all people, no matter what race or religion they might be. Throughout the world these rights have been violated over and over again by all types of people, and it needs to come to an end.

The weak are poor are taken advantage of by those that have power over them.
People in undeveloped countries die every day from hunger while those in developed countries have too much to eat and waste food.

People are discriminated against for their race, sex, and religion, whether it be as simple as being denied a job, or as big as genocide.

People are imprisoned and tortured by tyrannical leaders, many times for little to no reason.

War is everywhere, there is never time of peace and people are constantly dying.

Terrorism leaves much of the world in fear for their lives.

Government systems like communism deny people of their God given rights like freedom of speech, religion, and press.

All of this seems overwhelming, but if we work together these injustices can be ended. If people would just put their differences aside and learn to love each other, many of the worlds most critical problems could be ended. If all the religions and races would learn to accept each other than war and terrorism would come to an end. One other big way that people could change the world would be to become less selfish. Those that have more than they need could give to those that don't have the necessities of life.
With the future of humanity at stake, I challenge all people to change their ways for the better of everyone. It doesnt take much, but if every person would make an effort to be more accepting and to only use what they need the world would become a heavenly place.

  4. Although God intended for every person to have basic rights such as the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, many people have been and still are denied these basic human rights due to social standards, powerful leaders, and prejudice thoughts and actions. Minorities such as religious outcasts, people of different races, women (in most cultures), and people with different levels of education may face the denial of basic human rights in many regions of the world.

There are many injustices around the world that must be fixed. One basic human right that must be given to people is racial desegregation. A horrific example of racism in todays society is the killing of Eric Garner. Garner was choked to death while being arrested by New York police. Some examples of injustices include the lack of freedom of speech, injustice in the law, no rights to express whichever religion one wishes, and the removal of public education.

Fixing these problems would be quite easy by changing laws in some countries and showing people that it is safe for people to have freedom and be different. By fixing these problems the majority of the World will be more accepting and allow more differences in society. With the help and cooperation of the majority of people, our generation can create a happier and more free society.

    1. Your key points in your introduction are clear and concise and profoundly brought to my attention. The elevated language you use directly states the serious tone in which you are using towards the reader. The fact that you added an example such as, Eric Garner, really puts your argument on racism into perspective.

    2. Your details about the killing in New York supported your argument. The format you used with sentences and paragraphs was a nice way to show structure. I liked your idea of fixing injustices and thought was a appropriate way to catch the attention of people.

  5. The people of the United States are promised the equal protection of the law, the equality of all people, and due process under the law, but when these are applied somehow the government usually falls short. It is the duty of the government to provide everything for its citizens that is promised, and to keep these citizens safe. It is the case far too often that people are not provided with their rights, these offenses include:
The denial of equal protection under the law because of race.
The denial of a job based on race or gender.
    Racial profiling in public places.
    Racial discrimination in the courts.
The restriction of the freedom of speech.
The racial discrimination by some police officers.
The violation of the right to assemble.
These offenses can be righted in the future. It will take awhile for people to learn to treat each other equally, but the example of other radical peacemakers in history can help. The role of the government should be to protect and build up their people, not tear them down and oppress them. If everyone made and effort to enlighten others about the growing problems of equality, they could make a difference.

  6. All people of this world are granted inalienable rights that include the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Many of these rights have been violated in the current world today. These rights are given to all people no matter their social status, color, or gender. Many people in this world do not realize how they have been treating people who are just as equal as they are. They think that they are above others. They may be above people on job status, but everyone has the same equal rights. How these rights are violated are through:

People are not given the same opportunities for jobs because of their race or religion.

The mistreatment of women and children everywhere.

People are denied the right to practice their own religion and freedom of speech.

Terrorist groups and things such as forcing people into doing work leaves many people in terror of everyday life.

Education is denied to people based on their race or religion.

Wars are being fought around the world that put harmless citizens in danger everyday.

All of these offenses in the world today will never end if only half participation is given. Hopefully, in the future, if these offenses have not been taken care of, we can come together as a unit and work to rid of all of these violations to the people of the world. In order for this to come to an end, it will take full participation from each country. Every single person needs to understand that all people are equal and have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There are many more violations in this world, but we all need to start somewhere in order to have a peaceful ending.

  7. Human beings of any race and gender are automatically given alienable rights by law. Individuals born in this world are given life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, without limitation. These rights cannot be taken away or given back, they stay with you forever. Many human beings have abused these God given rights in ways as such:
The honor of free speech has been desecrated.
Discrimination of women’s rights and racial disputes are violated.
Freedom of religious beliefs has been confiscated from human beings.
Child abuse among many homes and men abusing women is outraged.
Profiling individuals racially and by gender, making it harder to be hired.
Waged war against rivals has killed many men and women, innocent and or in combat. War has caused disastrous damages to cities, homes and families.
Pirating and terrorism causes disgust and repulsion in homes of innocent families.
Positive modifications can be made by uniting together under one roof and then come to a peaceful decision. Not all resolutions are made with violence and in this case there will be numerous positive changes accounting for the countless violations. As we come together as one in equality, justice, and in harmony there’s nothing, but hope for the future and the generations to come.

  8. All peoples, without regard of race, religion, sex, language, ethnicity, or other opinion are entitled to fundamental rights as human beings. Every person deserves to be treated as an equal to any other in all areas of life. Segregation by race, creed, or gender shall not inhibit a person’s ability to peruse opportunities and are not to be given privileged treatment under the law by any preference. It is the duty of the government, and if necessary for reform the people, to provide an environment where people can life without fear of persecution or oppression. The rights of majority groups shall not impede on the rights of a minority, or vice versa. In the world today, many people are denied even the most basic rights for survival with no moral justification. Some of the injustices committed around the world today include:
The denial of the right to representation in public affairs based on race, religion, or gender.
Unequal treatment in the workplace, home, or public place.
    Biased rulings in the courts.
Cruel and unfair treatment or persecution for belonging to a particular group.
Inequality in the eyes of the law on rights to hold property, a job, or public expression.
Violation of the right to peaceful assembly.
Segregation in schools, housing, and public places.
Putting to rest practices that facilitate discrimination and violent acts can right the atrocities of the modern world. It is the unavoidable duty for the government, community leaders, and individuals to work towards a more peaceful, and just society. Changing the discriminatory mindset put in place by many generations cannot be done by an individual, but requires the community. Full participation of every member of society, with all levels of resources must be put together in a unified effort for a better world.

  10. The people of the United States are in the land of the free. They have equal rights, freedom, and protection from law. The government has a job to make sure all people were given these rights. In some situations people are not granted these equalities. God intends for all people, all races, and all genders to be treated equally. The failures of man can be progressed with set laws protecting also religions and classes of society. Men and women should take pride of who they are as citizens and how they impact society. People have all the rights that enables them as citizens.

There are fixable variables that go on in the world. An example of this is religious persecution. The people that are involved in this are uncontrollable but finding a way to un violently put an end to this. Isis in Iraq and Syria are killing innocent Christians. The rights that are being violated by this is freedom of religion. These people that are being persecuted have been American citizens which have a freedom of believe what they choose. They are violated of this because of the lack of justice outside of their country.

Resolutions to this is to remind people all over the world that freedom of religion is granted to all races, cultures, and genders. Being free to walk freely is no different than freely practicing what oneself believes in. Positive values for the future are being able to have no shame in a religion. The future can only fix morals of people around the world to accept differences nonviolently. Following the amendments will be in our favor and also remembering the values that people are promise as a citizen.

Calling of action for people of the world is to be educated in the Amendments and keep in mind the value of each and every person. Guaranteeing rights, freedoms, and protection from law is all that can be attempted and encouraged. The amendments are a source to treating your peers as God would. This action is to remember the worth of everyone when interacting with them.

  12. All humans are granted the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It every humans duty to preserve those rights for those living now and for those to come. Race, gender, or religion does not matter; all people are guaranteed these rights equally. Not one group has sole or supreme control over another. All men, women, and children are created equal. These rights and others that have been infringed are as follows;

    Abuse of women and children.

Killing of the innocent and unborn.

Discrimination based on gender, race, and religion in the courtroom and in public place.

Racial profiling based on previous events by a certain religion or race.

Oppressive government that denies freedom and unjustly imprisons its people.

Violence and execution based on religion.

These problems that the world faces can not be solved by only a few. They are in fact the whole worlds problems, which requires the whole world to make a change and stop these injustices from happening. There is no reason that tons of people are being murdered because of religion, gender, or race everyday. This can be stopped, but all people have to take part.

  13. All people in The World are granted certain inalienable rights no matter what race, gender, or social status they are. These inalienable rights include; life, liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness. Most rights of the citizens of The World have been violated and these certain rights are as follows:

The freedom of speech has been taken away from them.

The freedom to pursue their happiness by doing what they are thought to be allowed to and they cannot.

Women have not been considered as being free and equal to men.

Many have been engaged in physical and mental torturing.

The freedom for people to go away to different places in the world has been shut down.

The freedom to believe in whatever religion and practice it freely has been denied.

Racial discrimination has been allowed and has done damage to the society of all races.

The violations of the people of the world can be ended. If we follow what is told in the inalienable rights and pursue these ideas we can end these violations. The world has many governments and if each and every government can work together, they can each take a part in resurrecting these rights. These injustices are to be brought down.

  14. All humans are born with natural rights that can be taken from them by no one. These rights are called the inalienable rights. Without these the world would be chaotic and there would be no order for human respect. The rights that center the around the idea are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. There have been many injustices violating these rights including:

Racial discrimination worldwide, even in our own nation.

Religious discrimination and holy wars, most prevalent in the Middle East.

Human Trafficking going on throughout the world.

    Inhumane physical and mental torture.

    Governments who oppress their people.

    Discrimination by appearance or gender.

  15. All men and women, regardless of race, gender, social status, etc., are granted, by their creator, the inalienable rights which are, but not limited to, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. People throughout the world are faced with grave injustices that may include:

Physical abuse from family, friends, or strangers because of race, religion, gender, age, etc.

Physical, mental, verbal, and emotional abuse of women by mothers, fathers, significant others, or strangers.

Economic inequality from job loss, lower education, or no opportunity resulting in homelessness.

Forced labor on minors, with little or no pay, in underdeveloped countries to satisfy and meet the conditions for products to be exported to developed countries.

Hunger and famine from greed, gluttony, or no resources.

Human trafficking of young ladies and men.

People have been denied the right to travel at their own discretion because of tyrannical leaders.

These crimes against humanity have shown that conditions have most certainly not gotten better throughout time. People still suffer and are treated like animals over things they cannot change (race and gender) or things that they believe in (religion). It is cruel, ridiculous, and inhumane that there are people in the world that still believe that people are below other because of who they are.
People need to keep their hope that one day, everyone will truly be treated equally by everyone. It will not be easy; it will be a struggle, but this generation could be the one to change the way the world behaves. If people learn to love their neighbor and respect everyone no matter who they are, the world will be a more peaceful and happier place.

  16. All people, on all corners of the world, have rights that are given from birth no matter their race, religion, gender, and other factors. The rights include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but there are others that go along with them such as complete equality. That does not mean there are not injustices in the world that violate these rights which includes
Discrimination against people for various reasons that includes gender, race, religion, and other various reasons.
People not receiving their freedoms that they deserve such as freedom of speech and press.
Poverty is very prevalent in the world when help can be given
There is mass starvation all over the world, depriving many of their needs.
Abuse towards women and children, and also towards those who are different is everywhere.
War is all over and cause much more damage and destruction than it does good.\
All of these injustices could be completely destroyed but it may take time and effort to fight against all of them. This goal, which would be long and hard to achieve, can be most easily be done, and easily is said a bit loosely, if we all as people come together to strive for it. This fight is not something that can be done by one person alone. It has to be a worldwide group project to even think about getting to the end of it and achieving the massive task at hand.

  17. Everyone is born with certain rights, these rights are given by the creator and are inalienable. They include but are not limited to that of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. No matter race, gender, ethnicity, or anything else, everyone is born with the same rights. Many of these rights have been violated including the following,
The unfair treatment of different races in many countries,
The denial of freedom to some people in Nations,
The unfair treatment due to gender such as women and children,
The unfair treatment due to religion or culture,
The unfair discrimination by police officers or courtrooms,
The abuse of prisoners or employees,
And the freedom to travel anywhere has been limited.
These violations of the rights of many humans in the world can be and must be stopped. If countries work together and follow the many inalienable rights given many of these injustices will be stopped which is a huge goal. On a smaller note, if many people work together and raise awareness about what is happening a revolution and uprising of people fighting for rights will occur.

  18. Men and women were given certain inalienable rights by their creator, among these there is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In order to secure and protect these rights governments have been created, led by the people who are governed. If the government begins to take these inalienable rights away the people reserve the right to overthrow the government. Allover the world people are faced with injustices despite having these certain inalienable rights. Examples of these injustices are:

People living in poverty due to the rapidly expanding standard of living in the middle class.

People starving while others create lots of food waste.

Women still battling gender inequality especially in developing countries.

Physical or verbal abuse of women and children especially those who are unable to defend themselves.

The discrimination of a group of people because of their race or religion.

The trafficking of human beings who are then sold as slaves illegally.

These injustices can have an end put to them. First starting in the United States and then perhaps the entire world. If men and women from every race and religion work together the human race can achieve peace. With peace all injustices, even ones that are not stated, can be solved through cooperation.

All men and women need to stand up for their inalienable rights. Eradicating these injustices and those not listed will require a strong effort from a large group of people. The time needed to eradicate these injustices is unknown but it is known that it depends on the effort of the people fighting for an end to these injustices. If enough effort is put forth by men and women these injustices will no longer be present in our society.

  19. Everyone is granted inalienable rights by their creator, natural rights that cannot be taken away; these rights include, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness permitted to all people of every race and sex. No matter their rank or effect on society. Many of these natural rights have not been granted in today’s modern world such as:

The abjuration of human life through abortion.
    Freedom of speech and expression.
    Racial and gender discrimination.
    Prosecution of religion.
There is also constant war and conflict throughout the war.

These are all problems that overflow our dysfunctional world we live in today, but it is nothing that cannot be fixed. If we as all of God's creatures on this earth, can unite as one and work together, these negative aspects of our world can be resolved. If we learn to love and accept each other the way God created us, learn to solve conflicts through peace, and accept all human life, we can live in a world harmonized with peace and prosperity.

  20. Every person, of every creed, nation, background, social class, and sex shall be granted the same unalienable rights that our founding fathers created this country on: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Many citizens today are restricted of these rights due to a reason which is uncontrollable by them. The government shall take action to address these issues and the people shall be allowed to take action and change the ideas and laws if the government is unable to grant them what they deserve. Every person deserves equality and freedom which were two of the main ideas that this country was founded on. However, these ideas are being violated today throughout many ways including:

Unequal wages for women who should deserve to be able to earn the same amount as men.

The poverty-stricken who spend their whole lives seeking for basic necessities of life, as well as a job, while there are the rich and greedy who bask in their money.

The discrimination of races, which although civil rights was an issue forty years ago, many are still being violated today by other races.

Religious discrimination is a big issue as well, as many people are unable to openly practice their religion of choice due to the judgment and poor actions of others if they do.

Physical abuse and domestic violence happening in families throughout the country, affecting women and children, showing the unfair treatment in which these two types of people are receiving due to the idea that women and children “are lesser” than men.

The unjust court system which often determines unfair rulings for many cases and the inability to seek equal justice for every case that comes its way.

These are some of the ways that the United States of America still has to achieve justice, freedom, and equality for all. The founders of this country moved here to escape the persecution and unjust treatment of that in Europe. This country was created to be different. This country was made on the idea that our creator grants us these unalienable rights and every single person should receive them. It is time for the people of America and the government to come together and figure out how to earn these rights for every single person. It should not be difficult. We are all citizens of this glorious country and we should all band together, regardless of our background, to fight for the rights this country was created through.

  21. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all humans are created equal. That they are brought into this world with the sacred rights of love, life, and independence. That it is the right of all of humanity to have the freedom to close their own religion, to reach the boundless heights of all of their hopes and dreams, and to be accepted, despite their own personal flaws and faults. Humanity has been denied these rights in the following ways;

Woman has been beaten, forgotten, and abused, both physically and mentally by her male counterpart, and sexual discrimination ensues in many workplace environments

There has been created a block for women on the corporate ladder; one in which has been set up by society so that she may not reach her full potential

There has been countless crimes of racial discrimination plaguing the world; standing in the way of job and social equality

There has been many evils done to the young people of society; young women told that they have to right to attend school, and countless other young people being told that the dreams in which they wish to pursue are intangible and/or impossible

There has been an injustice committed on all those who worship their religion freely or in secret by the hypocritical villains plaguing the entire world

There has been a barrier formed over all people of the world, that they are given social standards to their lives which has resulted in injustices based on human religion, gender, age, and sexuality

There has been a constant air of hatred spread upon people of various sexualities of people whom are not heterosexual which has resulted in various hate crimes

We have lost countless human beings to suicide, provoked by mental illness which we have not treated, and the unjust words said by others

We have created social norms; denying life and liberty to all those who do not live within these norms

We have not respected the earth in which we live and have created a world of pollution and industrial filth

These injustices set upon the society of the Earth will be the case no longer. We can heal these injuries done by human kind and ensure humans the rights of love, life and independence; bandaging the wounds of this world in which we live.
